Mr Siga Laid to Rest
The Director Operations of the iTaukei Affairs Board, Livai Siga was finally laid to rest at his Island home in Ovalau.
Mr. Siga was escorted for the last time to his village in Nauouo, in the Tikina of Levuka on Saturday, (19/02/22) by his family and work colleagues.
The entourage of mourners was led by His Excellency the President and Turaga na Tui Macuata, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere and the first lady Filomena Katonivere.
Mr Siga’s service to the Government of Fiji started off in 1985 as an Assistant Health Inspector with the Ministry of Health.
After 15 years with the Health Ministry and becoming the Senior Health Inspector, Mr Siga joined iTaukei Affairs Board as Assistant Roko Tui Lomaiviti in 2000.
His other positions in the Board include, Executive Training Officer, Senior Training Officer, Principal Training Officer, and Acting Director Operations and later became Director Operations in December 2019.
He was described as a very cool, calm and composed person who was always willing to offer his assistance and advice to everyone he knew.
Mr Siga, 56, passed away after a short illness at his residence.
He is a member of the Tokatoka Vunisea, Mataqali Damu and Yavusa Qalivakalou.
He is survived by his wife Rosalini Cavu Siga and four children.
